How to QUIT with Grace and Dignity | The Bright Side to being a "Quitter" | The art of letting go
In this video, I explain why quitting is actually a good thing. Here's some important information I forgot to mention in the video:
HOW TO KNOW WHEN IT'S TIME TO QUIT SOMETHING:
- The sunk cost fallacy has taken over (you're only continuing something because you've invested a lot of time into it already)
- It feels like a slog (you've lost interest and you're bored while you do it)
- You're not gaining anything new (you've learned all you wanted to know about it)
- You're not getting much out of it (you're neither learning from it nor enjoying it)
- It's become a habit (and you barely even question it any more)
- You dread it
- It takes a lot of time you'd rather be spending elsewhere
- Your priorities have changed (this is the one I most discuss in this video)

Thinking and living with equality and open general perspective embraces the acceptance and respect for people's differences, promoting fairness, and valuing diverse perspectives. It involves recognizing the true worth of every individual and treating everyone with dignity and without prejudice. Here are a few principles that can guide one towards this approach: 1. **Empathy**: Try to understand things from others' points of view. 2. **Inclusivity**: Include all people in your actions and decisions, making sure no one is left out. 3. **Education**: Educate yourself about different cultures, lifestyles, and beliefs. 4. **Dialogue**: Engage in conversations with people who have different opinions and experiences. 5. **Reflection**: Reflect on your own biases and work on overcoming them. 6. **Action**: try to stop inequality in it's simplest form and advocate for the rights of others before the problems and the gaps become humangous . Living with these values not only contributes to personal growth but also helps in creating a more harmonious and equitable society.

My husband and i wanted children but were unable to have them, we tried to adopt but no one returned any of our calls. So we figured we were never meant to have them. we have now been married for 35 years and recently retired. We do wonder what our future looks like without grandchildren and no children that may be there for us when we get older. But we have enjoyed our life without children with lots of freedom.

I'm sorry to hear you struggled with this. It's so sad that lovely people like you who want children so badly don't get to have them, while at the same time there are people out there having heaps of kids and they don't treat them well. But it's nice to hear you enjoyed your life with your husband regardless. Thank you so much for sharing this!

My late wealthy Uncle bought only 1 paper a week. He'd remove coupons And funnies he'd use it to wrap gifts in string. Coupons he'd share w others to use. After reading paper He'd wrap it round broom handle n tie w metal coathanger. When metal coat hanger became brittle He'd throw it in scrap to sell. That paper gave him 52 free firelogs. The ashes he put in compost.thus no waste.

"Being popular" sounds good, and "being unpopular" sounds bad...yet there's far more to it than that. I don't want to be unpopular, bc that makes it seem as if I'm disliked-but I definitely wouldn't want to be popular, either-bc I'm a private person & can't handle social pressure, and the larger one's audience the greater the pressure (to make the people happy, not to bore or offend, to keep churning out more of whatever they demand, etc.). As a person on the autism spectrum, I find masking (putting up a pretense) to be utterly exhausting and I loathe having to do it when out in public. Never would've realized you're Australian, why do you stifle that accent for your YT videos ? Does the accent make it harder for viewers/listeners in the US to understand the words you're saying, and you want to make your content more accessible to a general/international audience ? Just curious...

Im 36 and child free. I absolutely love the children in ny life (my nieces, nephews, little cousins and the kids I train) and kids in general. I am VERY protective around children and I do enjoy the energy of children. With that said, I DO NOT want children of my own and I appreciate and I am grateful not to handle that responsibility. Theres times where I think of being a parent and it seems cool but I just do NOT have a burning desire or deep passion to want to be a father/parent. I enjoy my freedom to do the things I enjoy without much sacrifice. And I also don't really have the ideal financial situation and establishments (That I hold myself to) to want to even have children.

I thought I did when I was younger. It was less a desire than it was the acceptance of a notion I didn't know I had the right to reject. I was under the impression that everyone just had to have kids someday, so I had convinced myself it would be fine. But the older I got the more I realized that wouldn't make me happy. I'm glad I figured it out before I actually had any children. Others aren't so lucky.

You should not have kids if you don’t want to. But if you want to and don’t have them, you will be extremely unhappy and regret. Not in your 30’s but in your 40’s you will feel the punch

That's fair. I'm not saying no one should ever have kids. Just letting those who don't want them know they don't owe anyone anything. It's okay to put yourself first when it comes to these things.
